Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual, couples, and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Jennifer earned her MA in Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and her BS in Psychology from University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate at The George Washington University where she is pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology specializing in Trauma, Crisis, and Substance Use.
Jennifer has worked in the field since 2005 where she has gained a wide array of experience working in the Arlington County Jail, Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, residential and day treatment programs, as well as providing in-home intensive therapy to children and adolescents. Her expertise includes working with individuals with severe mental illness, addiction, behavioral related issues, abuse, sexual assault, depression, suicidal ideation and anxiety .
Jennifer draws from a number of evidenced based techniques and interventions including but not limited to: CBT, DBT, animal therapy, art therapy and narrative therapy. Jennifer takes a Humanistic approach to working with children and adults, believing that the key to successful therapy begins with the therapeutic relationship and providing a safe, judgement-free and supportive environment.
