Laura obtained her Masters degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has over five years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She provides treatment for a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, life transitions, trauma, and loss. Laura also enjoys working with parents who may need support in behavior management or other parenting challenges.
Laura has training in using a variety of evidence based interventions including, CBT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, and play therapy techniques. When working with clients, Laura uses a strength-based, client-focused perspective, by focusing on the unique strengths that each individual possesses and how those strengths can help them in overcoming their challenges. Laura believes that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is an important factor in the success of therapy and strives to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. Laura conducts sessions in English and Spanish.
