Priya Tahim, LGPC

Priya is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who provides individual, family, and couples therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Priya earned her MA in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in Garland, TX and received her BA in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. 

Priya’s primary areas of expertise include working with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, marital issues, adoption/foster care, self-harming thoughts/behaviors, and self-esteem. Priya uses a variety of evidence based interventions including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, behavioral modification, trauma-informed care, and play therapy techniques. She is ASSIST certified (applied suicide intervention skills trained), multiculturally aware, and has extensive training in crisis management, and community based mental health services. 

Priya strives to create a healthy therapeutic relationship with each individual, in order create a judgement free zone for them to disclose thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Priya believes in fostering hope and creating a safe space for individuals to process, as well as find healthy solutions.
