Anne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Washington, DC and Maryland. She has worked in a variety of settings with children, adolescents and adults since 2013. Prior to becoming a therapist, Anne was a seventh grade school teacher. Before beginning private practice, she worked as a school-based mental health therapist in numerous schools across DC. Anne received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and her Masters of Social Work from The Catholic University of America.
Anne has immense experience working with clients managing depression, anxiety, anger management and stress tolerance. She has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and expressive art therapy are a few of the interventions she uses with clients. The core of Anne's work is based on the relationship between client and therapist. She feels that before any intervention comes connection, trust, and rapport-building. Anne believes in people's ability to get through challenging times, and finds fulfillment in supporting individuals on this journey.
Anne hopes to instill confidence in her clients and to act as a guide to the tools and skills clients have within them. Anne's work is primarily strengths-based, as she strongly believes in the client's resilience.
