Claire Nagelhout, LGSW

Claire is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker originally from Bethesda, Maryland. Claire received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Lehigh University. Claire then graduated from Columbia University’s School of Social Work, receiving a Master of Science Degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice. 

Claire has experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of mental health issues. She has worked as a therapist in private practice conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Claire has also worked as a therapist in elementary schools in New York City and Washington DC where she gained experience working with neurodivergent children.

Claire provides individual therapy to children and adolescents. She adopts a trauma-informed approach to therapy. Claire practices Play Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each child. Claire strives to provide a warm and compassionate environment where children feel safe exploring their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
