Emma Trevenen, LGPC

Emma holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Rehabilitation and Human Services from Pennsylvania State University, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. With experience in inpatient, private practice, and university settings, Emma has supported children, adolescents, and adults in overcoming a wide range of mental health challenges. She has worked with individuals facing issues such as grief, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, mood disorders, self-esteem struggles, and interpersonal relationship difficulties.

Emma adopts an integrative approach to therapy, blending techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and play therapy. Understanding how overwhelming life can be, particularly with the pressures of school, family, and friendships, Emma helps her clients navigate these challenges by fostering self-compassion and encouraging acceptance of their emotions.

By considering the full scope of her clients’ experiences—including their emotions, upbringing, relationships, and personal histories—Emma utilizes a strengths-based approach to empower individuals, enabling them to overcome obstacles and cultivate a healthier mindset. Ultimately, Emma’s goal is to help individuals tap into their inherent ability to heal, grow, and thrive.
