Faryal is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MS in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and an MS in International Humanitarian Action from University College Dublin in Ireland. Before her career as a therapist, Faryal was a humanitarian aid worker, supporting efforts to alleviate the suffering of those facing adversity around the world. Faryal's turn to the field of psychotherapy was informed by the restorative effect she has witnessed of genuine human connection, acceptance, and trust on individuals, no matter the context.
Faryal is a holistic practitioner with training and experience in the use of a number of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other somatic-based therapies. She has significant experience supporting clients with traumatic experience/stress, depression, anxiety, grief, attachment wounds, relationship issues, stage of life transition issues and low-self worth.
Believing emotional safety and connection are requirements for healing and growth, Faryal strives to provide a trusting and respectful space within which individuals can feel secure in exploring and expressing all parts of themselves.
