Sam has worked with children and teens in a variety of settings since 2005. He received his Masters of Social Work from The Catholic University of America which he feels prepared him for his role as a therapist. The client-therapist relationship is very important to Sam. After spending several years as a school social worker in Washington, DC, Sam is now enjoying his work with clients in the private practice setting.
In addition to his work with kids, Sam also enjoys working with adults and couples. He has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. In addition to using CBT, Sam utilizes Two-Person Psychology and Relational Theory models in his work with clients. He feels it's important for the therapist to be a part of the therapeutic process and enjoys working with folks from the beginning of treatment until the end; he never wants his clients to feel they are alone on this journey. Sam hopes his process helps his clients feel confident in themselves so that they can find the courage and fortitude to change, which he recognizes is one of the hardest things a person can do.
