Victor is a native Washingtonian who received his BA in Psychology from The American University and his Masters of Social Work from Howard University. Being raised through the Catholic school system in Maryland and the District, Victor believes he understands the unique challenges that many young people experience growing up and living in this immediate environment. With over 15 years of clinical and therapeutic experience, he prioritizes building a strong and trusting relationship with his clients. Victor spent seven years in the Psychaitry Department at Children’s National Medical Center. Providing psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Room allowed Victor to gain a great understanding of the mental health needs of young people in crisis.
Besides working with children and adolescents, Victor has over 12 years experience working with adults. He has provided therapuetic treatment to individuals who experience all forms of mood disorders (including depression and bi-polar disorder), anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Psychotic Disorders on the Schizophrenia Spectrum, plus individuals with Sexual Orientation issues.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is the treatment modality Victor utilizes most frequently in therapy. Additionally, he often employs Solution Focused Therapy plus Client-Centered Therapuetic techniques to address the specific needs of each individual. Working with clients as they find solutions to their life challenges is Victor’s greatest strength and passion.
